We are looking for someone who wants to help develop applied research on root rot and create solutions to manage it.
Root rot causes significant economic losses annually for Swedish forestry. Therefore, at Skogforsk, we will expand and develop our work on root rot and hire a researcher dedicated to the field. The main task is to closely collaborate with the industry and, in cooperation with colleagues, develop forestry research to prevent root rot. You will be responsible for data collection, analysis, and presentation of results, both orally and in writing. Within the framework of the position, you will also initiate, find funding, and carry out projects and assignments, as well as plan and conduct training. You will be part of the research program on Forest Management and collaborate with colleagues at Skogforsk as well as project partners at universities and forestry companies. The primary location is Ekebo but may also be Uppsala.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone who wants to work with applied research and is not afraid to seize opportunities that arise, while also being able to delve into the most important details. You have practical experience or good knowledge of forest management and an interest in capturing relevant questions from the industry. An interest in practical forest management, digital technology, and the conditions of forestry is essential for success in this position. We believe you are a biologist, forest engineer, or plant pathologist. You have a PhD in a relevant field for the position and are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. A B driver's license is also required for the position.
The position requires you to be self-driven, innovative, and have a talent for communication and collaboration. An interest in practically applied research is essential, and experience in project management is desirable.
